An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 shook the Atacama region of Chile on Tuesday, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS, for its acronym in English).
The seismic focus was located 14.3 kilometers deep, and the epicenter was located 95.1 kilometers southeast of Vallenar, in the Atacama region, and 121.9 kilometers east northeast of Copiapó in the same region.
