A Minnesota police officer walks over the neck of a black detainee until he dies (-)

A video was circulated on social media today (Tuesday), allegedly documenting soldiers arresting an elderly man using violence, while suppressing a protest demonstration against the expropriation of land from the village of Shufa, near Tulkarm.

In the section, the soldiers are seen slapping the elderly man, who is named Abu Hanun, on the ground, and one of the soldiers presses his foot over his face to handcuff him.

Due to the resemblance to the action that led to the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis three months ago, the video is being distributed by Palestinians alongside the hashtag #PalestineLivesMatters - similar to the call that accompanies the fight against police violence against blacks in the United States.

The IDF denied the allegations, claiming that the video does not reflect the sequence of events and "violence against military force prior to the arrest." However, said, "The incident will be reviewed by commanders in the coming days."

IDF Spokesperson explained that the photographed event is part From a demonstration that included throwing stones at soldiers, when, according to the IDF spokesman, similar demonstrations have been taking place there for several days in a row. Moreover, the IDF claimed that the same elderly man "who is known as a key instigator" pushed the force commander several times ".

"The commander of the force showed restraint, but after several assaults against him, the force was forced to arrest the suspect as he continued to attack the force. The suspect even resisted his arrest, and therefore the force was forced to handcuff him."

They added that after the arrest, the elderly man was given medical treatment.
