Vacation in Italy - after the falling number of infections, the worst seemed finally over, now it hits a popular tourist destination of all places.

  • Relief in

    Italy:

No new infections in the former

    coronavirus stronghold Bergamo

  • With

    tourism

    , however,

    the number of infections

    is also increasing

    drastically

    in

    Italy

  • The popular

    holiday island of Sardinia

    is particularly badly affected

The pictures were shocking in

March 2020

: trucks of the

Italian army

transported

the coffins of the

coronavirus

victims

in

Bergamo

.

Too many people had died.

Many can now breathe a sigh of relief right here.

It's finally done - the number of infected people is currently zero.

But while large parts of

Italy are

slowly beginning to see the future again, there is

bad news

from the south.

Italy can really use

tourism

here.

The

economy of

the popular

holiday destination

suffered badly and

Italy

also pumped

100 billion euros

into its rescue and imposed a controversial ban on

dismissal

.

But with the vacationers the infections rise again.

The tourist stronghold

Sardinia

is

particularly

affected.

Corona in Italy: Discos in Sardinia are becoming corona herds

Drinking, dancing, sweating - the

corona virus

had hardly been detected

on the island

for a long time, the

discos

were open and numerous

vacationers

partied through the nights - with fatal consequences.

The number of

infections

rose and the

discos

on the

Costa Smeralda

in

particular

became corona herds.

Corona in Italy: Club owner and mega-star Flavio Briatore in the hospital

Among them is the

night club of

the prominent

ex-Formula 1 manager

Flavio Briatore

.

He defended himself in advance with videos against the strict requirements and the alleged stigmatization of the discos.

"The show goes on - the show will go on!" - he wrote.

There are now around

60

cases of

infection

in Briatore's

“Billionaire” club

, including Flavio himself.

According to the Ansa news agency,

Briatore's team announced

on Tuesday that he had

gone to the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan

with a mild

fever

and

symptoms of exhaustion

.

"I only have a

strong prostate inflammation

, Sunday night I went to the San Raffaele in

Milan

and they took me in," said the

70-year-old of

the newspaper "Corriere della Sera".

However, the hospital

confirmed on Wednesday that the

Briatores corona test had been positive

.

The 70-year-old celebrity is now under treatment and isolation.

Corona in Italy: the average age of those infected has fallen drastically

The Italian government had to intervene:

discos

and

beach bars

are now

closed in Sardinia.

From 6 p.m. it is compulsory to wear a mask in public places.

With

513 active cases in Sardinia,

the island's total infection

count rose

to

1,912,

according to the government website

.

A trend that can also be seen in the rest of

Italy

.

The numbers are not yet as high as in

France

or

Spain

, but caution is advised, especially for holidaymakers.

The fact that the

clubs

and party

miles are

responsible for the increase in

Sardinia

is also shown by the radically lower average age of the infected: according to the government website, this is now

30 years

.

Video: Hundreds of tourists are stuck on mini-island

One of the small sub-islands of Sardinia, Santo Stefano, has been hit particularly hard:

Hundreds of vacationers

and employees of a department were

quarantined

here after a

corona

outbreak

In Bavaria, a temporary mask requirement has now been introduced when starting school.
