The Afghan government has released some of the last Taliban scheduled in a prisoner swap, an insurgent spokesman told AFP, who was confident about the upcoming opening of peace talks.

Our prisoners have been released and we see this as a positive step forward paving the way for the start of inter-Afghan talks
,” said Suhail Shaheen.
Another Taliban official said 200 of their prisoners have been released in the past two days.
