After several days of expectation in Ecuador for the formation of alliances for the presidential and legislative elections scheduled for February 2021, this Monday one of the most anticipated agreements within the electoral board was confirmed.

The Christian Social Party (PSC) officially announced that it had sealed a "political alliance" to promote the candidacy of Guillermo Lasso, of the CREO movement, for the presidency of Ecuador in the 2021 elections.

The text of the agreement published on the official account of the Christian Social Party indicates that "conceptual and even personal differences" have been relegated to prioritize "employment and prosperity that are in serious danger."

Both political parties resolved to share box 21-6 to support the candidacy of Guayaquil businessman Guillermo Lasso as president, and of Cuenca doctor Alfredo Borrero as vice president.

The lists of candidates for Andean national, provincial and parliamentary assembly members will be independent and separate, according to the alliance document.

Guillermo Lasso referred to the alliance on his Twitter account: "At a time when unemployment, poverty and corruption ravage our country, we are challenged to lead it on the path of change and prosperity."

The CREO movement emphasized that "unity prevailed for the benefit of Ecuadorians" and that it is time to put differences aside to put Ecuador as a "priority."

Ecuador is our priority and it needs us together.

At a time when unemployment, poverty and corruption ravage our country, we are challenged to lead it on the path of CHANGE and PROSPERITY.

LET'S GO FOR THE ECUADOR OF OPPORTUNITIES THAT WE DESERVE!

The former mayor of Guayaquil and leader of the Christian Social Party, Jaime Nebot, signed this alliance as a witness, which has generated a diversity of reactions from political and social sectors in the country.

The Social Christian candidate, Cristina Reyes, declined her aspiration.

Guillermo Lasso, 64, will aspire for the third consecutive time to the presidency of the Republic of Ecuador.

His most recent candidacy was in the 2017 elections, where in a tight second round, LenĂn Moreno won the presidency with the support of CorreĂsmo.
