Protests renewed in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, to demand better living conditions in the country, and demonstrators tried to storm the headquarters of the Parliament.
The Lebanese National News Agency stated that the protesters tried to enter the parliament, but the security forces fired tear gas bombs to keep them away from the entrances to the parliament and prevent them from breaking and destroying public property.
A number of protesters also pelted the House of Representatives building and the security forces with stones and fireworks, while trying to advance towards them in order to disperse them.
In addition, the Lebanese army announced that additional measures would be taken in the vicinity of Martyrs Square in the center of the capital, Beirut, where it worked to cut off some roads to prevent further riots and checked the identities of passers-by, as calm returned to the area.
In addition, the Lebanese Red Cross announced in a statement that a number of the wounded were transferred to hospitals, while 20 wounded were treated at the scene.
Since the 17th of last October, Lebanon has been witnessing sit-ins demanding accountability for the corrupt, combating corruption, and improving the living conditions in the country.
