The activities of the Eighth Dulbah Forum for Culture and Arts, organized by economic, civil and expatriate activities, were launched today in Dulbah Square in Mashta al-Helou in Tartous Governorate, under the title “People .. for life”.

The activities of the first day included the opening of the sculpture and painting forums, with the participation of 7 sculptors and five painters who use various materials, including wood, clay, stone and painting on the walls within the project “Towards a Ajmal Town” to remove distortion from the region’s walls.

The General Supervisor of the Forum, Attorney Wael Sabbagh, stated that the people of Al-Mushatta used to meet their guests at the festival under the dulba, this perennial tree that bears its name and symbolizes love, life, hope and rebirth, stressing that they are continuing to hold the festival despite all circumstances.

As for the new festival for the current year, it is according to Dybag that mixing materials during work by means of cardboard, wood, metal wires and adhesives, indicating that walnut is the wood used in addition to river stone in carving on wood and stone.

The organizers of this year chose a group of young men and women from recent graduates to participate in the artistic forums, according to what was confirmed by the sculptor Alaa Mohamed, the artistic supervisor of the festival, explaining that the forum used to present new works that contribute to the continuation of communication with the people of Al-Mushatta and improve their visual taste and interaction between them and a greater number of artists and intellectuals from The different governorates, which, in his opinion, gives a positive touch to the outlook on life under all circumstances.

Some of the works that will be implemented will be distributed in the public squares in Al-Mushatta, as is customary, according to Muhammad, in addition to some of them will be displayed in the exhibition of the forum located in his own building.

Among the participating artists, the artist Rahaf Ulum, who is participating for the first time in the forum, said that her presence in this place gave her a sense of positive energy, noting the general atmosphere in Al-Mushatta, which her children voluntarily provide everything they can in order to improve the image of their town, indicating that her new experience combines cloth, metal wires and wood through which she will be presented The state of fear experienced by a person and his search for stability mixed with anxiety about any new step.

Although it is his third participation in the forum, the sculptor Yamen Youssef sees an innovation every time, noting the importance of the meetings that he brings together with artists from different schools in the festival, enriching his experience and the experiences of his colleagues.

In turn, the artist, Ruba El-Kanj, participating for the second time in the forum, will present a portrait based on the combination of wood and paper pulp as a new experience for her, confirming her permanent desire to participate in meeting the people of Al-Mushatta and visiting this place which is an outlet for artists under the conditions of stone imposed by the Corona epidemic.

The activities of the graffiti workshop continue in the forum to remove distortion from the walls of the area supervised by the artist Samer Ismail for three years and bears the name “Towards a Better City” and is based on drawing in the open air, as Ismail explained that the forum is a space that enables artists to interact, communicate and learn about experiences Different calling it a spotlight project in the ashes.

It is noteworthy that the forum will continue until next Thursday and includes morning and evening activities, including the signature of the third story collection by writer Salwa Zakzak entitled "A day I wore the face of my strange aunt."
