They denounce that the prosecution offered Breonna Taylor's ex-boyfriend a reduced sentence if he accused her in a drug case

The Taylor family's lawyer called the move a smear campaign by Breonna Taylor to justify the police attack that killed her.

Breonna Taylor's ex-boyfriend, the black woman shot by Kentucky police, received a proposal to charge the woman with being part of a criminal organization in exchange for her parole, an attorney for Taylor's family charged.

Jamarcus Glover, who has been convicted twice previously, was arrested a week ago on new drug trafficking charges and faces a possible 10-year prison sentence.

The prosecution's lawyers reportedly devised a draft in July to offer Glover the option of reducing his sentence to probation if he incriminated Taylor as a participant in an organized criminal group, according to the WDRB network.

Sam Aguiar, a lawyer for the Taylor family, called the lawyers' offer to Glover part of a smear campaign by Breonna Taylor.

The professional assured that the offer shows that the attorneys for the prosecution are "desperate" to justify the murder of Taylor and "paint a picture of her that was very different from the woman she really was."

Jefferson County attorney Tom Wine acknowledged the offer, but said it was an idea that was raised during negotiations and was never formally written into any actual plea deal, according to The Washington Post.

Walker took a gun and shot an officer in the leg.

Officers responded to the shots fatally wounding Breonna, who was unarmed.

"(When shooting) that was the minute that Kenneth heard the police yelling at him and realized that they were the ones who had entered his home," says the lawsuit filed Tuesday.

"Although Breonna's life tragically ended that morning, that's when Kenneth's nightmare began," he adds.

One of the Louisville police officers involved in the incident, Brett Hankison, was fired.

Two others had their duties reassigned pending the results of an investigation.
