The numbers speak for Joe Biden right now - not only in the polls for the US presidential election.
According to a report in the New York Times, the Democratic candidate received more than $ 300 million in campaign contributions in August alone.
The final sum has not yet been determined, but is likely to be the highest that a presidential candidate has ever booked in a month, the newspaper quoted two people familiar with the process.
The donation platform "ActBlue" recorded receipts of 35 million dollars on Monday alone, it said.
The previous record therefore came from September 2008, when Barack Obama collected $ 193 million.
The Democrat then won the presidential election, and Biden became his deputy.
By July, Biden had already raised $ 140 million.
However, his rival, incumbent Donald Trump, came in at $ 165 million.
The President's election campaign staff has not yet released any figures for August.
A spokesman for Biden's campaign did not want to disclose any amount for the time being because it has not yet been finalized.
The election is scheduled for November 3, with Biden ahead of Trump in most national polls.
