Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke today (Wednesday) with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who congratulated him on the arrival of the Israeli delegation to the United Arab Emirates and progress in establishing relations between the two countries.
Al-Sisi told Netanyahu that he supported "every step that will bring peace and security to the region."
Al-Sisi asked Netanyahu to refrain from taking unilateral measures.
Al-Sisi also stressed the importance of preserving the rights of the Palestinians in a way that would allow them to establish an independent state.
Cairo welcomes the agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and more than once it has been reported that the Egyptians along with the Saudis and the Americans served as key brides in formulating the historic agreement between Israel and the Emirates.
Moreover, Cairo encourages other Arab countries such as Bahrain, Oman and Sudan to sign peace agreements with Israel.
The Egyptian diplomatic activity, together with Israel, the United States and Saudi Arabia, regarding processes and changes in the region, is helping Egypt during the Sisi regime to regain significant political power in the Middle East, strengthen ties with Washington and continue to enjoy generous economic and security assistance from the Saudis and Americans.
