The World Zionist Organization has announced that in the coming days it will send regular envoys to the Jewish community in Dubai, following the decision to normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
In doing so, they will also become the first emissaries in an Arab country.
The chairman of the World Zionist Organization updated the Prime Minister's' Office on the news. It was also announced this week that both the Jewish Agency and the Keren Hayesod will begin operating in the Jewish community in the Emirates, and the agency is considering operating a permanent emissary.
The issue of representatives from the World Zionist Organization also came up during the meetings held by the Israeli delegation to the United Arab Emirates, headed by the National Security Adviser, Meir Ben Shabbat.
The chosen couple of emissaries are Yaakov and Zelti Eisenstein, who will establish and manage a Jewish kindergarten in Dubai, conduct classes and lectures on the tradition of Israel, establish a studio for learning the Hebrew language and organize community events around Israeli holidays and festivals.
The apostles will work in the community already during the Tishrei holidays.
Chairman of the World Zionist Organization Avraham Duvdevani: "This is an important milestone in the history of the Zionist movement throughout its years of existence.
We will continue to work in every way to strengthen the connection between the State of Israel and the Jewish communities in the Diaspora and to strengthen the Jewish identity of our people around the world, including at the ends of the earth and in the smallest communities. "
The World Zionist Organization operates hundreds of emissaries around the world, including in small and remote communities, and has been in contact with the heads of the Jewish community in Dubai for several months.
