Lionel Messi's father and manager, Jorge Messi, landed in Barcelona on Wednesday morning after flying overnight from Rosario, Argentina.
His arrival in the Catalan city comes amid multiple reports in Spanish and British media about a meeting he will hold with the club's board this week to discuss the future of his son.
A source from the club has told CNN that there has been no confirmation of such a meeting.

The 33-year-old Argentine forward failed to appear for a coronavirus test at Barcelona's training ground on Sunday and subsequently did not attend preseason training on Monday and Tuesday.
According to multiple reports, Messi considers that a clause in his contract allows him to leave Barcelona for free this summer.

The clause reportedly expired on June 10, 2020, but Messi and his representatives consider that he still has the right to activate it due to the extended season due to the pandemic.
However, Barcelona insists that the player must fulfill his contract, valid until June 30, 2021, unless a termination clause is paid, which is estimated at 700 million euros (833 million dollars).
