 The doctors - "Westerland"

Dorothee Bär, 42, CSU

As a CSU politician, I have to live with a contradiction: I like bands that I know for sure that none of them would ever vote for CSU.

But for me that's no reason to boycott a musician.

I was once at a concert by Jasmin Tabatabai in Munich, in the federal election campaign in 2002. At that time I was the youngest candidate in Bavaria, Edmund Stoiber was a candidate for Chancellor.

At some point Tabatabai yells: "Stoiber wants to become Federal Chancellor!"

And I yell: "Yeah!"

But she continues: "We all have to prevent that!"

Today I can almost laugh about it, but of course it was a memorable experience of a special kind back then.

I'm trying to separate that now.

When I tell people that I think the Toten Hosen are great, the first thing that comes up is: "I would never go to Bayern."

Tolerance also taught me to endure that.

I don't just like the pants, I also like the doctors - at school I never understood why you had to choose between the two bands.

During this time I was also in the punk scene and went to Ska-Punk festivals.
