The number of places is strictly limited this year, but despite the Corona crisis, the VHS Peiting has put together a quite extensive program for the autumn semester.
From language courses to lectures to creative things, every participant should get their money's worth.

- If you leaf through the new issue of the VHS, you quickly notice: Despite Corona, the Peiting program for autumn and winter is very extensive.
Sure, some things are difficult to implement if distance rules and other requirements are adhered to, for example,
only relaxation courses are offered
in the area of
exercise
.
But "we have put together a good program for what is possible," says Sabine Hickisch from VHS Peiting, satisfied.
The VHS Peiting places
a special
focus
on
“home”
in the current course program
.
This is covered, among other things, by three lectures by Werner Schmitt.
It's about the "secret and treasure in the Neukirchwiesen", the "submerged Ur-Lech between Burggener Alm and paper factory" and the "almost disappeared air base in the west of Schongau".

for in lectures about different countries and the
language courses
.
For example, there is an Italian weekend course specifically for vacationers.
Further courses are offered for English, French and Spanish, some of which are aimed at beginners or are suitable for refresher courses.
Continuation courses are of course also on the agenda.
“However, the groups were reduced in size due to the Corona requirements.
That's why we unfortunately had to cancel some of the 'old hands' who had registered too late this time ”, regrets Hickisch.
In fact, the
registrations
so far are "on the whole surprisingly good," said Sabine Hickisch.
But some people, who used to register very early, have not been heard from this time.
“Of course I understand that not everyone is headed for a VHS course at the moment,” says Hickisch.
Nevertheless, they wanted to offer a program.
"Many may not expect it at all and have therefore not yet registered."
In addition to tried and tested courses that are fully booked year after year - including painting courses and pottery - there are also a few new products to discover.
Several
online courses
are offered
in cooperation with other adult education centers in the region
.
Two
health
lectures are also devoted to caring for relatives at home.
The program is particularly extensive this year in the
housekeeping
area
.
As a special highlight, a
single cooking
course will be offered
for the first time
.
Four men and four women cook together that evening.
“And we urgently need a few more men,” says Hickisch and laughs.
The women's places, however, are already fully booked.
"This is not supposed to be a coupling event," emphasizes the VHS director, "but simply a nice opportunity to get to know other people."
Other cooking courses on specific ingredients or countries are also on the program.
“As a rule, however, they have to take place as demo cooking courses,” explains Hickisch.
Means the leader shows the recipes and cooks enough for all participants.
The participants in the
“Salsa Cubana”
dance courses
must also
accept
compromises, as they
should all be completely contactless.
Pottery courses are offered
for
children
between the ages of six and ten.
The
start of the new autumn-winter semester
is officially on September 8th, parallel to the start of school.
It actually starts in Peiting a few days later.
The first VHS course starts on September 10th.
"For most of them it has become a matter of course anyway, but all participants are asked to bring masks to the courses," says Hickisch.
The hygiene measures can and must be enforced.
"We hope that everything goes well," said the VHS director.
