Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed today that Moscow has not received any document from Germany on the case of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny and has nothing to answer it.
Sputnik quoted Zakharova as saying that during a meeting with the Russian ambassador to the German Foreign Ministry, there was no talk of sanctions.
Earlier today, German government spokesman Stefan Seibert announced that German military experts had “proven” that the Russian opposition Alexei Navalny, who is currently in a German hospital, was poisoned with a "Novichok" substance.
For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, commenting on the letters of the German Cabinet, "We are waiting for a response to the request of the Attorney General's office regarding the situation around Navalny."
The Russian Foreign Ministry considered that the haste followed by the United States and the European Union regarding the poisoning of Navalny, "suspicious".
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the medical tests conducted by Russian doctors for the opposition Alexei Navalny before his transfer to Berlin proved that there were no toxic substances in his body.
