Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden visited the city of Knosh, Wisconsin, today (Friday), talking to residents and also to Jacob Blake, the black man who was shot by police in the city.

The police shooting rekindled a wave of protests, mostly in Wisconsin but also in other places across the United States.

Biden's campaign for Kenosha, which has been strained at the center of the racial conflict since the August 23 incident, came two days after President Donald Trump visited the city, but the two visits were completely different.

Biden met privately with Blake's family at the Milwaukee airport area, and he also spoke with Blake himself, who is hospitalized, in a phone call for about 15 minutes.

Bidan said after the call that Blake had told him he was not going to give up, and that "nothing would beat him."

Trump's visit on Tuesday, however, was intended to express unreserved support for the police, as the president did not meet with Blake or his relatives.

The former vice president met with residents at one of the city's main churches, and heard from them about feelings in the city, which has been in protest since the incident.

Porsche Bennett, a Black Lives Matter activist, said black city residents were fed up with false promises of police reforms.

"We have not seen an action yet. I have always been educated that only actions help, not words," Bennett told Baiden who did not respond.

Barb de Berge, a small business owner in the city, spoke about the risk to business owners in the city, against the background of the violence that accompanies many of the demonstrations.

Biden condemned the devastation to which he was exposed, saying that "no matter how angry you are, if you steal or burn something you have to be held accountable for it. It's just unbearable."

However, he also praised the protest activists, adding that Trump failed to get public opinion to turn against the protest.

Trump, on the other hand, toured during his visit on Tuesday to a furniture store that was completely destroyed in the turmoil of recent days, claiming that Democrats like Biden are sending a sympathetic message to violence, and being influenced by left-wing activists.

Trump has refused to condemn violent acts by his supporters, defending a 17-year-old boy accused of killing two people and injuring another person by shooting a semi-automatic rifle, during a confrontation with protesters from Knusha.
