Seventy-two hours after the start of the school year, the first two classes will be closed this Friday morning due to coronavirus in the polyvalent school on rue Gros, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
The pupils concerned will have to be tested in a week and stay at home for fifteen days before being able to return to school.
Two brothers, one of whom tested positive
The decision was made this Thursday afternoon after a CE2 student tested positive for Covid-19.
As a precautionary measure, the Paris Academy has also decided to close the class of its little brother, who is educated in the middle kindergarten section in the same establishment.
The Ile-de-France regional health agency (ARS) monitors the health situation in the school.
"These are not the first cases of positive schoolchildren for Covid in Paris, but the first class closings since the start of the school year" would like to clarify the Paris academy.
Last June, several classes had already been closed, in the 12th and 4th arrondissements in particular, after the detection of several positive cases of Covid-19.
Closure decisions are taken on a case-by-case basis, depending on the mixing of populations in schools and the risk of contamination in each establishment, explained the ARS.
"The decisions can depend on the number of contact cases or the layout of the premises", also explained the rectorate of Haute-Vienne to Parisien Parisien the day after the start of the school year.
