The friends accompanied him at a pure rhythm, as he liked. Neighbors went out into the street and hugged "Kufa's" family until the last second.

Putting noise.

As he liked to do, Pedro Luro this Thursday fired Facundo Astudillo Castro (22), who on April 30 had left town to hitchhike to Bahía Blanca and met his death on the way.

With a loud speaker or a pen hitting whatever, "Kufa" always demonstrated that he was keeping the rhythm in his body.

The evocation was started by his former companions of the batucada that he joined until a few years ago.

While he was being watched inside the room of the Electric Cooperative, they settled on the sidewalk with their drums and snare drums, as they did in the afternoon at the train station, very close to Facundo's house.

For a few minutes, they put music and percussion to the sunny but sad afternoon for the town.

Her neighbors followed her, who clapped their hands at the departure of the funeral procession from the headquarters of 22nd and 5th streets. Some had been there since noon, when the arrival of the remains on a medical plane from Buenos Aires was announced.

A delay in the transfer, which involved a stretch by road from Bahía Blanca, led to the start of the funeral beyond two in the afternoon.

And the noise continued until the very entrance of the property near Fortín Mercedes, where Facundo already rests, on the outskirts of town.

Throughout the entire journey, the hundreds of cars, trucks and motorcycles that accompanied him to that final site were honked continuously.

For none of the 12,000 inhabitants of Luro did it go unnoticed that one of them was being fired early.

The reception of the remains and the wake had been restricted to those most intimate with Facundo.

Mama Cristina, her brothers Alejandro and Lautaro, "Tata" César and his colleagues from the Turmalina bar and the Semillero Cultural, among others.

In addition to the plaintiff lawyers Leandro Aparicio and Luciano Peretto, Lurense and one of the great friends of the family.

After 3:30 p.m., the reserved ceremony ended and gave way to the long line of vehicles that formed through the town, heading for one of the entrances.

From their Facebook profile, Facundo's mother had invited them to accompany her, wearing chinstraps and respecting social distancing.

In some cars, cards were seen with the boy's photo and the demand for justice.

“We are all Facundo”,

one of them exhibited.

The farewell tweet that Cristina dedicated to her son on Wednesday afternoon, after learning that the remains found in Villarino Viejo were his, went viral.

The legend

"Fly high my child

that your drummer sounds so loud that it does not give peace to those who did you so much harm, your witch will watch over you for justice until we embrace again", circulated on social networks, also to summon the farewell.

On the same Wednesday night, a group of Pedro Luro residents had started a vigil at the former train station, a few meters from Facundo's house, in the Bonacina neighborhood.

There where the boy and his friends from Youth for Memory met and from where the mobilizations started to ask for his Appearance with Life.

"Cris, the people embrace you and ask for Truth and Justice for Facu,"

said the banner surrounded by lit candles.

It was illustrated with drawings of the boy and several cows from San Antonio, such as the one inside the amulet that his grandmother had given him and that was found inside a bag in the funds of the Lieutenant Origone police station.

On the way to the cemetery and at the main access to Pedro Luro and Route 3, Facundo's mother received a special message of support.

Her colleagues from the service station located above the entrance ran a few meters to the road with a sign that read “Fuerza Cris !!!

We are with you.

Shell ”.

Some of them were in their work uniforms.

After 4:00 p.m., the procession entered the premises and there was no more noise than the whistling of the strong wind that made the flags placed on the coffin flutter.

Among them, one from Boca, brought to her by her friends.

Some inconsolable crying also broke the dominant silence of the painful scene.

The funeral home employees lowered the coffin to the edge of the grave and allowed their family and friends to come over to say goodbye.

Some reached out and touched it.

His closest ones surrounded him, embraced each other and vowed not to rest until justice was done for "Kufa", before the batucada rang out loud again.
