Police today (Thursday) arrested a young man (25), a resident of Be'er Sheva, who is suspected of running over several dozen young people who were spending time on the mountains of the mountainous Jordan, after he allegedly made noise there.
7 of the victims were evacuated for medical treatment.
Late last night (Wednesday) late at night a message was received at the 100 police hotline from a young man, who said he was with a group of 30 people hanging out by the Jordan, and that a vehicle suddenly emerged and ran over them.
Upon receiving the message, police officers were called to the scene, and noticed a number of wounded and sprawling young men on the ground.
In addition, the police noticed a lot of destruction and broken plastic chairs.
The police called a medical team to the scene, who evacuated 7 young people to the Ziv Medical Center in Safed for further medical treatment.
At the same time, extensive searches were carried out to locate the suspect in the crash, who was eventually located and arrested near the "cork" bridge.
The suspect (25, Be'er Sheva) was arrested and brought to the police station for questioning and today a hearing will be held on the police's request to extend his detention in the Magistrate's Court in Kiryat Shmona.
The initial investigation revealed that prior to the incident, an argument began between the suspect and young people about a noise they allegedly made.
When he saw that the noise had not stopped, he ran over the young people.
According to the suspect, the young rapist used to be under the influence of drugs.
