REPORT - Faced with the rise in crime, the police unions and the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc (LR) are asking the state to add 150 police officers to the current 1,400.

Toulouse

In August, a series of settling of scores brought mourning to the sensitive Izards district, north of Toulouse, plagued by drug trafficking.

In this district of HLM under reconstruction, three shootings and a handgun attack erupted in two weeks, a frequency never seen until then even if the Pink City knows two to three settling of scores per year.

These four acts of vendetta committed from August 10 to 24 left two dead and four injured.

Most of the victims were known to be drug trafficking.

The first shooting broke out on August 10 around 10:50 p.m. on Place Micoulaud, where lookouts took up positions around the metro entrance.

A 30-year-old man was killed with a large caliber weapon and two others, 22 and 23, were injured.

The multiplication of shots - a dozen cartridges found - causes panic among residents.

"Once again, the guns have spoken, it's big caliber and it's happening on public roads!"
