Citizens across the country are reporting tonight (Friday) widespread power outages.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the company claimed that the average time to deal with faults is three hours, but many residents complain about a long stay in the dark and without regular supplies, at the height of the heat wave that prevails across the country.
During the day, supply disruptions occurred in many cities around the country, including Ramat Gan, Sde Nehemia, Ramat Gan and Jerusalem.
In Ness Ziona, Holon, Beer Yaakov, Tiberias and Migdal HaMoshava, residents report prolonged stays without electricity even in the evening.

"Faults due to the weather" (Photo: IEC)
The electricity company explains that the source of the faults is the extreme weather and heat.
"There are several hotspots in the network that cause disruptions in the regular power supply," the company said in a statement on social media.
"IEC teams are working to rectify the disruption. The expected return of regular supply on average is about three hours, but may take longer, depending on the nature of the disruption."
Company officials told Walla!
NEWS that these are spot faults, evident at the building and street level, and not at the regional level.
"The average treatment is about three hours, but there are events that last for long hours due to the need to replace heavy components and ulcers."
They clarified that "as a rule, the IEC treats first and foremost disruptions that have an impact on a wider number of customers, so that sometimes the duration of handling faults of home fuses or phases in a building is longer."
He stressed that: "There is no production problem."
