For us, President Ouattara's candidacy respects the Constitution.
The real question that arises is whether we are in a new Republic or not.
However, the 2016 Constitution profoundly overhauled all powers, particularly the executive, with the creation of the post of vice-president, the legislature with the creation of the Senate, and the judiciary with the creation of the Court of Cassation.
So we are in a new Republic and everyone knows that it resets the counters to zero.
And it is also this new Constitution which allows Messrs Bédié and Gbagbo to present themselves, they who have also served two terms.
President Ouattara is also a man of his word.
