About three weeks passed from the day the 16-year-old girl from Ashkelon was raped at the "Red Sea" hotel in Eilat, until the indictment was filed against 11 people involved in the affair.
Among these, four were charged with aggravated rape, while others were charged with aiding and abetting rape, indecent acts and failure to prevent a crime.
The affair provoked great public anger and protest against violence against women.

There, it was alleged, she was raped.
Meirov and Rafailov have previously served prison sentences for criminal offenses they committed.
