Washington - SANA
Kamala Harris, the Democratic Vice President for the US presidential elections, played down the credibility of US President Donald Trump's words about a possible vaccine for the emerging corona virus, announcing that she would not be convinced of the efficacy of any vaccine unless it was witnessed by another trusted person.
Harris said in an interview with CNN today that Trump has been suppressing expert opinions regarding the Corona pandemic and that she is concerned that this may happen again in the event of a possible vaccine.
Harris added: I will not trust Donald Trump because he may take advantage of any vaccine to improve his image, regardless of the experiences of this vaccine.
She explained that "Trump is looking forward to the presidential elections that will be held in less than 60 days and is taking what he can to appear in the image of the leader in this regard, which is contrary to the truth."
The United States still ranks first in the list of countries most affected in terms of infection and deaths due to the Corona virus, recording 190,912 deaths out of 6328986 infections.
It is noteworthy that Trump has a history of underestimating scientific advice, and some experts doubt the possibility of completing vaccine trials by the end of this year or even early next year, as the possible side effects of it on a large number of people must be studied before judging it.
