MK Ofer Shelach called tonight (Saturday) for chairman Yair Yair Lapid to hold primaries for the party leadership within about three months. In an

outline he posted on his Twitter account, Shelach called for elections for the party leadership between December 1 and December 15, 2020.

"Elections for the presidency have a future - my outline. It is simple, but revolutionary. The first open elections in Israel to select a candidate, as befits a party that seeks to present a real alternative not only to Bibi, but to the corruption of the politics he represents. In the Facebook account.

Shelach also wrote that "an election committee headed by a retired judge will be established; anyone may run as long as he is not a member of another party; any person may vote, provided he has not been a member of another party for the past six months."

The election for the presidency has a future - this is how it will be since I announced my demand to hold the presidency election. There is a future. There is quite a bit of enthusiasm and quite a bit of embarrassment ....

This week, Shachal was surprised when he called on Lapid to hold primaries for the party leadership, for the first time since its establishment in 2012. Shelach, Lapid's friend for about 30 years, was a co-founder of the party and is considered Lapid's secret man and one of his closest friends.
