The Élysée announces the death of two French soldiers in Mali

In a statement, the Presidency of the Republic announced this Saturday evening the death of two French soldiers in Mali, their armored vehicle having been destroyed by an improvised explosive device, this morning during an operation in the Tessalit region. The two victims are Brigadier-Chief First Class ST (whose name has not been communicated by agreement with his family) and Hussar Parachutist F


In a statement, the Presidency of the Republic announced this Saturday evening the death of two French soldiers in Mali, their armored vehicle having been destroyed by an improvised explosive device, this morning during an operation in the Tessalit region.

The two victims are Brigadier-Chief First Class ST (whose name has not been communicated by agreement with his family) and Hussar Parachutist First Class Arnaud Volpe.

They belonged to the first regiment of parachute hussars in Tarbes.

Another soldier was injured in the attack.

The President of the Republic bows with deep respect to the sacrifice of these soldiers,

He sends his very sincere condolences to their families, loved ones and all their brothers in arms.

He assures them of the nation's solidarity in these painful circumstances.

He also fully supports their comrade injured in the same attack,
