He added: "If I am offered the presidency, I will refuse it. I do not delude myself that the ultra-Orthodox parties will leave Netanyahu and come to me. If there is political development, I believe they will come and talk to me."
Shelach, Lapid's friend for about 30 years, continues to put pressure on him to hold primaries in which he is determined to run.
He co-founded the party and is considered Lapid's secret man and one of his closest friends.
Later in the interview, Shelach referred to the spread of corona disease, demonstrations in Balfour and the Uman storm.
"Demonstrations in Balfour do not follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health, regarding Uman - there is a danger in flights and accommodation in Ukraine."
Shelach added that he referred to the ultra-Orthodox and morbidity in the ultra-Orthodox cities and claimed that even if they removed the yeshiva students from the calculation of the traffic light plan, Bnei Brak would still remain a red city.
MK @OferShelah to @moshe_glassner in the 'main edition': "Today's tour of Bnei Brak has been scheduled for a long time, I would love for ultra-Orthodox people from Bnei Brak to vote for me.
If I lead, there is a future - I think I will be able to reach the prime minister's.
