American doctors and health officials have warned their citizens of the "catastrophic" repercussions that an outbreak of regular influenza may lead to in conjunction with the continuing Corona pandemic during the coming fall and winter.
According to a report published by the Washington Post, doctors and officials indicated that tens of millions of cases of regular influenza infection may lead to overcrowding in the coming fall of hospitals, clinics and laboratories that are also working to combat the Corona virus, especially since the symptoms of infection with the two viruses coincide and often it is difficult to distinguish between them.
The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, Robert Redfield, admitted in an interview with the "GMI" media network that the coming fall and winter may be among the most difficult stages for public health in the United States due to the outbreak of Corona and influenza at the same time.
The United States currently tops the list of countries most affected by Corona in the world with more than 6.2 million confirmed cases of the epidemic, including more than 188,000 deaths.
