A man with a knife seriously injured a person before fleeing on Sunday around 5 p.m. at the Gare du Nord in Paris, AFP learned from the Paris police headquarters.

The victim was transported to a hospital, added the prefecture, without giving more information on his state of health.
His "vital prognosis is engaged," said the firefighters.
The reasons for this attack were not known early Sunday evening, according to the prefecture.
The investigation was entrusted to the Parisian judicial police.
