If you are a parent of children of kindergarten and school age, you have probably already seen that educational institutions in your city have closed or students of a certain class have been required to go into isolation.

Barely a week has passed since the school year began - and schools are closing one after another.

However, the Ministry of Education does not clarify the reason and avoids publishing morbidity data among students and teaching staff.

With the exception of the red cities, where about 130,000 students do not study, almost all other cities - green or orange, and those where the education system is supposed to operate - educational institutions are closed and students, teaching staff, education assistants and assistants are sent to isolation.

However, so far the Ministry of Education refuses to publish truthful data on the number of students and teachers sick in Corona and how many are in solitary confinement.

The official reason is that they want to "pinpoint" the data.

But the question arises as to whether this is not an attempt to avoid criticism of the opening of the education system at all costs.

In addition, the Ministry of Education could initially publish all the data on the number of isolated students and closed schools, but they seem to be trying to segment the number of schools closed after the school year began and originating from students infected within the system, in classrooms.

It may be important to have such data, but this should not come at the expense of publishing all the data.

Education Minister Yoav Galant was interviewed everywhere and Switzerland said that the Ministry of Education - unlike the Ministry of Health - holds the most detailed and extensive database available to educational institutions.

Five school days have passed since the schools opened, but the ministry still does not have a simple answer to the question - what is the number of those infected and required for isolation.

The fear is that the corona will return - and in a big way.

You can find schools in the country that were at the center of the disease and returned to it.

For example, in the Hebrew Gymnasium in Jerusalem, where there was an outbreak of about 140 infections among the students last May, about 36 students went into isolation due to exposure to a verified patient.

The students at the Givat Brenner Regional Council also starred in the headlines when they were among the first to enter isolation and even missed the Purim party.

This week it happened again when a high school student on the council was diagnosed with corona, which sent to isolation the students studying with her in the capsule as well as those who rode with her on the school bus.

In addition, the student is active in the Scouts and therefore all those who took part in the youth movement had to go into isolation.

The closure of educational institutions one after the other does not prevent the schools from continuing to operate, but some would say that at least in the upper classes, only distance learning could have been sufficient in the meantime.

Either way, in the absence of data there are more and more parents and students expressing concern about coming to educational institutions.
