In the video: The mayor of Nazareth celebrates contrary to the instructions of the Corona (Editing: Nir Chen)
For some time now, an improvised event garden has been operating in the Tawfiq Ziad school complex in Nazareth without a permit and in violation of the law.
The operator of the place won a tender to operate a restaurant, but began holding weddings and events there, while also blatantly violating the Corona's guidelines.
The municipality claims that this was done contrary to its opinion and that it warned the operator and asked it to stop.
Recently, however, the mayor himself has been documented celebrating at the venue, in violation of corona rules.
In addition, the noise emanating from the compound during weddings disturbs the rest of the neighbors at night, and many of them complain about the nuisance.
"A school has become an event garden, it can't go on," said a neighborhood resident, who asked to remain anonymous.
"We can no longer fall asleep during normal hours, let alone the children who are really suffering from the noise."

The "Garden of Events" in Nazareth
According to city spokesman Salem Sharara, the school’s cafeteria franchisee is doing so without permission.
"He won a tender to run a restaurant on the spot and also started doing weddings without city approval," he said.
"The municipality sent him a permit to stop."
However, at one of the weddings in the same compound, which operates without a permit and in violation of corona rules, the mayor arrived, on a slam, himself.
He was documented in the video celebrating a wedding held at the venue.
A spokesman for the Nazareth municipality said that "I cannot confirm that this is indeed a photo taken on the school grounds."

The compound in Nazareth
Last night (Saturday), the corona commander, Prof. Roni Gamzo, visited Daliyat al-Carmel, and warned that within three weeks, tens to hundreds of deaths from the virus are expected in Arab society.
His visit took place against the background of the rise in morbidity in Arab society, where many localities are defined as "red" according to the Gamzo traffic light model.
Against the background of Arab society officials' concern about the continued crowds at weddings and the breach of the isolation obligation, the corona commissioner said that "next week the Knesset will bring new sanctions against the owners of banquet halls for investigation, including increasing fines and closing the business."
The police said that the matter had been brought to her attention and the operator of the compound was summoned to a hearing at the police station in Nazareth.
