Five Somali soldiers were killed and an American officer was wounded when a car bomb exploded outside a military base in the south of the country today.
And the Agence France-Presse quoted security officials as saying that five Somali soldiers were killed and a US military advisor was seriously wounded in a car bomb attack near the coastal city of Kismayo.
In turn, Muhammad Abdullah, a security official, said that the security forces shot the car, but it was not possible to stop it, without providing further details.
The Somali extremist group Al-Shabab, affiliated with the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for the attack and said that 16 Somali soldiers and four Americans were killed.
And Mohamed Ahmed Sabry, director of communications at the Juba State Palace, announced earlier that two soldiers from the DNB Special Forces were killed and three others were wounded, including an American officer.
