The sin and its punishment: Since the announcement by US President Donald Trump of the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, all Palestinian factions have launched an aggressive campaign, with harsh words, against Abu Dhabi.

The response to the Palestinian defamation campaign was not long in coming.

The Kuwaiti secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Naif a-Hajraf, announced today (Monday) that he demands from the Palestinian leadership an apology for the incitement of factions against the organization which includes the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.

"I condemn the irresponsible language that included incitement and intimidation," al-Hajraf responded to speeches by Palestinian faction leaders at a meeting between them last Thursday.

"I am sorry that the Palestinians are wrong and have doubts about the organization's historical position on their side. I call on their leaders, the participants in the meeting, as well as Abu Mazen, to apologize for their provocative statements."

In order to make it clear that an abrupt apology will not be enough for the Gulf Cooperation Council, the organization's secretary general noted that they demand an official apology from the Palestinian television channels in Ramallah.
