In dozens of red localities, a series of restrictions were supposed to take effect today (Monday) to stop the spread of the corona, including a night stop between 05:00 and 19:00 and the closure of the education system.

Despite the approval of the Ministerial Committee for Limited Area Affairs, the Ministry of Health has announced that the restrictions will begin with a one-day delay, with the final list of authorities expected to be published only at night.

The heads of the red authorities, who are trying to prepare for the restrictions in their territories, have remained confused and without clear instructions, and are expressing anger at the government.

They describe a state of uncertainty, lack of organization and lack of information, and mostly express frustration at the ongoing wait for some good news from the leadership.

The mayor of Eilat, Meir Yitzhak Halevi, does not find logic in the government's decisions.

"We were informed that they would probably postpone the closure, and not just in Eilat," he said.

"I get the impression that those people who decided to put the city in this category understand that they made a mistake. There is no point in asking if there will be a list of red localities."

According to him, the residents and the hotel industry are in complete uncertainty.

"An entire city and an entire industry is waiting to hear what will happen, and at the moment we do not know," he described.

"What do you say to guests who have booked hotels? What do they say to the food suppliers? There is a great deal of confusion here. The residents are waiting to find out and right now the answer is that nothing will happen today, but it does not work that way."

Yitzhak Halevi added that he "feels that there is no Torah for fighting in Corona. I hope that this confusion will pass. At the moment - it is terrible and horrible."

"There is no logic."

The disorder in the management of the corona crisis is reflected, among other things, in the confusion in the guidelines that are passed on to the public.

Thus, for example, last night the municipality of Tiberias informed its residents that the classification of the city according to the traffic light plan "changed from red to orange", and therefore the educational institutions will be opened today - and so it was.

The municipality explained that the directive was received from the staff of the corona commissioner, Prof. Roni Gamzo.

However, on the Home Front Command website, which is the official website where the public receives instructions regarding the conduct of the Corona crisis, Tiberias is still classified as a red locality.

"Fortunately, the morbidity in the city is significantly small and last night the ministerial committee decided to recognize the current data, which place the city in the orange area," said the Tiberias municipality.

"This is how we got out of the Red City fences and opened up the education system. This, after approval by Gamzo's staff and legal verification. We removed the restrictions of a restricted area above us."

The municipality insists that Tiberias is still on the red authorities list just because it has not yet been updated.

"Later, the list of red cities will be updated by the Ministry of Health, with Tiberias certainly not one of them, and it will be officially defined as orange," it was reported.

"Right hand does not know what left hand does."

Despite this, a Tiberias resident who asked to remain anonymous, said he did not send his children to school today.

"Red is red," he explained in a call to Walla!

NEWS.

"On the official websites of the Ministry of Health and the Home Front Command - Tiberias appears as a red city. I even called to ask about it at the Ministry of Health's hotline, and I was told unequivocally that a city classified as red cannot run schools."

He even expressed bewilderment at the municipality’s announcement to residents.

"What does it mean that they informed the municipality and do not update the public on the official channels? Red and schools are not allowed to operate. There is no place for games here," he said.

"There is uncertainty, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. It is very worrying to see how this business is run."

The mayor opposes the closure of educational institutions.

The Beit Shemesh municipality said that only this afternoon did they contact them on behalf of the Ministry of Health regarding intentions to impose restrictions.

This, after until the same conversation in Beit Shemesh they heard about the intentions to impose a night curfew only from the media, with two neighborhoods on the agenda - Ramat Beit Shemesh A and C.

While the night curfew is ready to be accepted at the municipality, Mayor Aliza Bloch has made it clear that she opposes the closure of educational institutions.

A city official described a lack of organization, a lack of consistent information and ambiguity.

According to him, there is no synchronization and coordination between the Ministry of Health and the local authority on an ongoing basis, which creates chaos.

Corona projector Roni Gamzo was scheduled to meet with Mayor Bloch yesterday, but he canceled the meeting shortly before the deadline, he said, due to problems with the schedule due to the continuation of the Knesset debates.
