Because of the Corona crisis, many people are foregoing trips abroad this year and are spending their holidays at home.

That is why we offer our readers tips for excursions on foot or by bike - even beyond the district boundaries.

Today: A bike tour near Hinterriß.

Hinterriß - you want to really let off steam?

Would you like to relax and climb a mountain over 2000 meters high, without any climbing passages and without breakneck bike trails?

Then the tour through the Laliderertal to the Falkenhütte and the Mahnkopf (2094 meters) is the first choice.

Here you can simply enjoy hiking and biking for a day.

The tour to the Falkenhütte is definitely not an insider tip, and neither is the further route to the Mahnkopf.

But no matter how often you tackle the tour: It is always a dream.

There are many ways to get to the Falkenhütte.

Bikers usually opt for a ride through the Johannestal.

The drawback: From the 1600 meters high Ladiz-Alpe it gets miserably steep.

To get through here, you need enormous reserves of strength - or an e-bike.

Hikers often choose the alternative through the Laliderertal.

The walk, however, is quite a long one.

So it is very pleasant when you can simply sit on your bike at the end and roll comfortably into the valley.

That is why we are presenting a hike-and-bike tour here, i.e. a mountain tour that is covered partly on foot and partly by bike.

Lots of impressive motifs and views

The tour is fascinating from the first to the last meter.

A motif lurks at every corner that literally yells at you: “Take a picture of me!” On one side of the valley the rock faces of the Steinfalk (2347 meters) are impressive, on the other side the no less impressive Gamsjoch (2452 meters).

Not to mention the rugged Lalider walls that complete the valley.

Whenever you think: It can't get any more beautiful, after the next bend you see: It's possible.

The bike tour through the Laliderertal starts very leisurely.

You cycle a good four kilometers uphill for a few meters and then downhill again.

After crossing the Lalidererbach it will be a real mountain bike tour.

Now it goes up continuously, but with a manageable incline.

After a good six kilometers, the 500 vertical meters are over and the hardest part of the tour is done.

At the chapel in Lalidersalm-Niederleger the motto is: lock your bike, take off your cycling equipment and put on hiking shoes.

Falkenhütte as an opportunity to rest

After a not too difficult hike over 300 meters in altitude, the Falkenhütte comes within sight, time for a rest.

And time to enjoy the fantastic view of the Lalidererwände and the Kleiner Ahornboden.

Then it's very relaxed towards the Mahnkopf.

For the first time on this tour, you need to be sure-footed on the ascent, on a gravel road it goes steeply up.

Hubert Schmid from Allgäu is currently out and about here.

Although walking is difficult for him, at the age of 77 he struggles down the mountain - with the help of crutches.

He raves about the impressions he has gathered on the way from the starting point Falkenhütte: “A great tour that I can only recommend to everyone.

A great panoramic mountain.

Once in their life every person should have been on the minder head. "

A few minutes later it is clear what he means: the view from the summit is overwhelming in all directions and tops the impressions of the tour so far.

After the rest at the summit, things get adventurous.

On trackless terrain it goes down the hump of grass and through a small swamp area.

Especially when you think you are completely lost, a path appears almost out of nowhere.

The rest of the tour is comparatively leisurely.

There is an easy path around the Mahnkopf to the Falkenhütte and on the familiar path back to the Lalidersalm-Niederleger.

The bike ride to the parking lot is then just pure enjoyment - like the whole tour.
