Bad Wiessee -

In January 2019, the Wiesse municipal council drastically increased the parking fees, against the votes of the CSU.

Now the CSU parliamentary group is tackling the issue of parking with an application.

The core of the five-point catalog: the individual parking ticket should become cheaper again.

In return, the CSU wants to make parking in the whole of Bad Wiessee chargeable.

Currently, fees are only due in individual zones.

The application will be discussed at the meeting of the local council tomorrow, Thursday.

The start is at 7 p.m. in the Gasthaus Zur Post.

"Compared to other regions, parking in Bad Wiessee is too expensive," says CSU boss Florian Sareiter.

As reported, the municipal council, under the leadership of interim mayor Robert Huber (SPD), partially doubled the fee in 2019.

In addition, Bad Wiessee was divided into four parking zones: town center, spa district, Abwinkl and parking spaces for hikers.

A concept that the CSU now wants to overturn.

“The whole of Bad Wiessee is the parking space,” explains Sareiter.

Instead of charging high fees in individual zones, the CSU wants to make parking chargeable everywhere in Bad Wiessee, but lower the ticket price.

The yield is therefore likely to increase.

“The crowd makes it,” explains Sareiter.

A holistic parking space concept has been requested for the location, also taking into account the property on Wilhelminastrasse on which the tennis courts are located.

In addition, the CSU is calling for a clear and reduced price model for the entire town, including the side streets.

At the same time, there will be resident passes and season passes, especially for tourist businesses, so that they can provide their guests with tickets.

The CSU also brings a valley-wide annual parking permit for locals into play.

The CSU believes that its income can flow into joint projects such as the swimming pool.

In future, however, stationary traffic must be consistently monitored.
