In the framework of taking measures related to the approved health protocol for returning to schools, the Ministry of Education requested its directorates in all governorates to take some measures for pupils and students with chronic diseases.

In a statement, SANA received a copy of the chronic diseases that students with affliction must submit a medical report from the treating specialist doctor through which they are allowed to attend school during the spread of the Corona virus, “congenital heart lesions, rheumatoid arthritis, and hereditary cardiomyopathy, type 1 diabetes and lesions,” the ministry specified in a statement. Thoracic, such as severe bronchial asthma under permanent preventive treatment, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, chronic kidney diseases such as hemophilia, hepatitis and kidney infections, and chronic liver diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, malignant tumors of various types and stages, in addition to long-term treatment with cortisone or immunosuppressive drugs and movement disabilities. The following are perinatal problems such as cerebral hypoxia and cerebral palsy or caused by neurological abnormalities such as myelomeningocele and hydrocephalus.

The Ministry indicated that the disease will be confirmed with the appropriate medical documents by the school health departments, documenting these cases in their special records and allowing them to attend school after submitting a medical report from the specialist doctor treating them certified by the health directorate in the concerned governorate allowed to attend school during the period of spread Corona Virus.

On August 20, the Ministry of Education issued the health protocol for returning to schools in preparation for the start of the new school year in accordance with the requirements to maintain the level of education in Syria while ensuring the health and safety of pupils, students and workers in the educational field in light of the precautionary measures to confront the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
