To green part of industry and transport, hydrogen is one of the most promising solutions.
On the condition of producing a "carbon-free hydrogen", that is to say obtained by electrolysis of water using renewable and nuclear electricity, as opposed to gray hydrogen obtained by cracking gas or coal.
Another difficulty, carbon-free hydrogen is still far from being profitable, compared to other energies and even to hydrogen from fossil fuels.
To meet this technical and economic challenge, the government will, as part of the recovery plan, put 7.2 billion euros on the table over ten years with its
"national strategy for the development of carbon-free hydrogen"
