Most indoor recreational facilities will reopen next Thursday

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced that the outdoor recreational facilities to be reopened this Friday (11th) include: extreme sports fields, skateparks, roller skating rinks, model car parks, model boat pools, cycling facilities, outdoor badminton courts, outdoor table tennis tables, and fitness Facilities, pebble trails, outdoor sports climbing wall and rope net array of Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre, sports field (used for track and field training).



Indoor recreational facilities to be reopened next Thursday (17th), including badminton courts, squash courts, table tennis rooms and tables, bowling greens, golf tees, tennis courts, Hong Kong Velodrome cycling track, indoor jogging Track, dance studio and activity room, fitness room, British and American billiard tables, gymnastics training field, sports climbing facilities, fighting center of Beihe Street Gymnasium, Sanshou training field of Lei Yuemen Gymnasium, gymnasium self-study pavilion, and water sports center.

According to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, citizens can use the "Leisure Link" to book reopened paid facilities online from next Wednesday (16th). The Leisure Link booking counters and self-service stations will resume their reservations on the day the facilities reopen; The Leisure Link booking counters of the District Leisure Services Offices have also resumed their services earlier.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department pointed out that special measures will be taken to reopen the recreational facilities, including: limiting the number of people staying in the stadium and fairways, suspending spectator seats, canceling team competitions, and opening the facilities across the fairways.

Other land and water venues that continue to be closed, as well as recreational and sports activities held during the period, will be closed until further notice.

Regarding the refund arrangement due to the closure of the venue earlier (there is no replacement arrangement), the public can fill in the refund application form and submit it together with the original permit to the reopened recreational venue and the Leisure Services Office. The application form can be downloaded from the website .

The museum will reopen next Monday and limit the number of admissions

Regarding cultural facilities, from next Monday (14th), except for the renewal of the Hong Kong Science Museum and the Hong Kong Space Museum, other museums will reopen their exhibition facilities, and all interactive exhibits, public programs and children's facilities will be suspended.

All museums, including the ticket office of the Hong Kong Film Archive, are open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, and the number of visitors is restricted. The Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and Hong Kong Museum of History will adopt segmented admission to control the flow of people.

Next week (14th), the performance venues of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, such as concert halls, theaters, performing arts halls, cultural activities halls and performance halls, will be open to groups for rehearsals, but there will be no live audience performances or activities.

However, depending on the development of the epidemic, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department expects that performance venues can resume performances with live audiences from October 1st, and adopt special seating arrangements. In addition to maintaining the existing services of URBTIX, ticket offices and self-service ticket machines will be opened with the venue, and will resume operation from next Monday (14th). The opening hours are from 12 noon to 6:30 pm.

Limit the number of users in the library and study room

As for public libraries, starting from next Thursday (17th), the Hong Kong Central Library, 6 main libraries and 31 district libraries will reopen, and the following opening hours will be implemented:

Monday to Saturday: 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm (closed from 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm)

Sundays and public holidays: 9 am to 5 pm (closed at 12:30 to 1:00 noon)

The LCSD pointed out that in order to avoid crowds, the library will control the number of admissions, and the student study room will reopen on the same day. The opening hours will be the same as the library. It will also be opened in stages and limit the number of users.

In addition, the reference libraries of the Hong Kong Central Library and six major libraries will also reopen on the same day to provide reference services.

However, the newspaper and periodical reading room and children's facilities in the library will be temporarily closed.

The music center of the Music Office will also resume counter services next Thursday (17th).
