The Knesset plenum will not discuss tomorrow (Wednesday) the proposal of MK Bezalel Smutrich from the right, who called for the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry committee to examine the conflicts of interest of Supreme Court judges with the State Attorney's Office.

The request to hold the hearing came last night by MK Smutrich and MK Shaked, who approached Levin in this matter, after Amit Segal was exposed in the Channel 12 news program, regarding suspicion of covering up senior officials in the police and the State Attorney's Office regarding Prime Minister Netanyahu's cases.

The reason why it will not be possible to hold the debate tomorrow is that according to Knesset rules, Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin does not have the authority to change the agenda tomorrow after it has been set. Next week.

As you may recall, about two months ago, the Knesset plenum rejected a similar proposal by Smutrich, who called for the establishment of a commission of inquiry to examine the judges' conflicts of interest.

In response to the publication that Yariv Levin does not have the power to put MK Smutrich's proposal on the agenda, who even called in his current proposal to examine the "conflicts of interest of the ombudsman and his people", Smutrich said: "Cheap and false excuse. The Likud is probably running away from the possibility again Fix the justice system and settle for speeches and tweets. I was deputy speaker of the Knesset and member of the presidency for four years.

"The Speaker of the Knesset can easily add this to the agenda through a telephone poll between members of the presidency (in which there is a majority in the coalition). I call on the Speaker of the Knesset to do so."

As mentioned, last night the former Minister of Justice, Ayelet Shaked and MK Smutrich, appealed to Knesset Speaker Levin to establish a committee to examine the events.

Ayelet Shaked said after the publication last night: "As chairman of the right-wing faction, I turned to the Speaker of the Knesset and asked for a vote this Wednesday on MK Smutrich's proposal to establish a parliamentary inquiry committee to examine conflicts of interest between Supreme Court justices and the State Attorney's Office."

Amit Segal's exposure of the conflicts of interest of Netanyahu's investigators necessitates the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry committee.

I also added to the previous proposal (which focused on the High Court) the conflicts of interest of the ombudsman and his people.

I expect the Speaker of the Knesset to approve the raising of the motion for a vote as early as this Wednesday and for all members of the Knesset, coalition and opposition, to support it.
