US President Donald Trump launched tonight (Tuesday) an unprecedented public offensive against the US military leadership, accusing senior military officials of trying to drag the country into wars, in order to increase the profits of defense manufacturing companies.
"I'm not saying the military is in love with me - the soldiers are, but the top people in the Pentagon probably are not," Trump said.
"It's because they want to do nothing but fight the wars so that the wonderful companies that make the bombs and planes are happy," the president added during a press conference at the White House.
The Pentagon did not respond to a statement from the president.
At the press conference, Trump also presented the increase in the defense budget as one of the main achievements of his administration, citing the increase in the budget as evidence of his support for the military.
Trump also attacked his opponent in the Joe Biden election tonight, calling him a "stupid man."
He even accused his designated deputy, Kamla Harris, of "reckless anti-vaccination rhetoric" after she said she would be reluctant to get a vaccine marketed before the election.
Medical sources have claimed that Trump is pressuring to market such a vaccine quickly to improve his chances of being re-elected.

Trump's extraordinary attack on the U.S. military comes at a time when reports are growing in the United States that relations between the president and the Pentagon leadership are becoming increasingly tense.
This attack comes even after Trump's efforts to convince the public that he did not make a series of disparaging remarks about veteran American military personnel, as Atlantic magazine reported.

A former senior administration official confirmed, following the announcement last weekend, that Trump did indeed treat American soldiers who fell grossly and humiliatingly, during a visit to France in November 2018. According to the report, during the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, Trump refused to visit a military cemetery where American soldiers are buried.
Although Trump has in the past publicly belittled the service of some former senior U.S. military officials, such as the late Sen. John McCain and his former Secretary of Defense, retired General Jim Mattis, this attack is different because it is aimed at current military commanders, whom he has appointed Fill.
