Washington - SANA
Joe Biden, the Democratic candidate for the US presidential elections, confirmed that President Donald Trump's downplaying of the Corona virus was a "betrayal" that caused the death of many Americans.
And American media quoted Biden as saying in a speech to his supporters in Michigan state today: "Trump lied about premeditation about the virus and the danger it posed to the country for months."
Biden added: "The information was in his possession and he knew how dangerous the virus was, and while this deadly epidemic was spreading in our country, he failed to intentionally accomplish his work .. It was a betrayal that cost the lives of Americans."
Biden's statements came after publishing interview content indicating that Trump admitted last February that he knew the seriousness of the emerging corona virus and its ability to spread, but he did not convey this information to the American people because he did not want to "cause panic," he said.
The recorded interviews obtained by CNN appeared as the basis for a new book entitled "Anger" by journalist Bob Woodward a few weeks before the presidential elections on the 3rd of next November.
And Andrew Cuomo, the governor of the US state of New York, said yesterday that Trump "caused an outbreak of the Corona virus" in the state, after he had delayed imposing a travel ban on those coming from Europe.
