A major operation has been running since around 12.40 p.m. on the BRB route Holzkirchen-Schaftlach near Lochham.
According to the first reports, a train hit a car.

The Holzkirchen police have now given more details about the dramatic collision at the level crossing near Lochham.
Accordingly, the driver is a
29-year-old man from Baden-Württemberg
who was
driving
his Peugeot 308 down the Lochham road from Lochham in the direction of Thann.
A
22-year-old woman
sat in the passenger
seat and his 4-month-old son in the back seat
.
The 22-year-old passenger was initially trapped in the vehicle and was rescued from the car by the fire brigade.

seriously injured in hospitals
in Miesbach and Munich.
The 46 people from the train were all unharmed.

The accident is particularly tragic due to the fact that the municipality of Warngau has been wrestling with Deutsche Bahn for years about a barrier system for this and four other level crossings on the route.

Holzkirchen's fire brigade commander Ludwig Würmseer reports on the operation at the level crossing: When the Holzkirchen and Warngau fire brigades arrived at the scene of the accident with a total of 35 men, they opened the passenger side of the wreck with rescue scissors and spreader in order to close the two parents and their child as gently as possible to free.
Then the rescue service took over the first aid of the injured and prepared their transport with two helicopters to the hospital.

However, there will be delays in the entire BRB network today and probably the whole of Wednesday due to the severely damaged level crossing at the scene of the accident.

Nothing is known about the health of the family with a baby in the accident car.
There were 46 passengers in the train involved in the accident.
They were evacuated by the fire brigade and were then able to travel on with the buses provided.
