Thirteen coffins that have never been looted have recently been discovered at the ancient pharaonic burial site of Skara in Egypt, some 2,500 years since they were laid there.

The coffins, which were found sealed and closed, were placed one above the other in a burial shaft 11 meters deep, with even some of their original color preserved.

Blocked openings were found at the site, where additional burial chambers may be located, inside which more ancient coffins may be discovered.

Skara was a burial site of ancient Egypt located near Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, located close to present-day Cairo.

The place served as a burial site for about 3,000 years, when both the heads of the people and the common people were buried there.

But over the years most of the burial sites in the country have been looted in search of many treasures, but not in this case, as the coffins were preserved almost perfectly with the underwriting done to them even before the burial itself.

Researchers who excavated the site estimate that in the coffins found near the coffins may be objects and food that the relatives added to the graves so that they could accompany them to the next world.

Because the place is so dry, the chances of finding liquids in the place are almost nil, as these probably evaporated over the years, however dry foods and various objects might have been well preserved in the dry conditions of the place.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, it is not yet known who was buried inside the coffins, and for that it will be necessary to clean and restore the inscriptions on them.
