Today, the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund “UNICEF,” launched the “Back to School” campaign, in a message to the world that despite the spread of the Coronavirus, Syria is able to secure a safe and secure environment for students and teachers.

This came during a press conference held at Jawdat Al-Hashemi School in Damascus to answer the inquiries and questions of journalists, as the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, explained that after students cut off education, schools would reopen their doors to receive their children next Sunday, September 13, indicating that it would be safe to return. Students will not be exposed to danger and if any symptoms appear, the student will be sent to the School Health Department.

Minister Tabbah confirmed that the campaign represents a message to the world that despite the spread of the Corona virus, Syria is able to secure a safe and secure environment for students and teachers through the implementation of the health protocol for returning to school and the spread of school health directorate staff in all governorates to train its personnel in supervising the return of students to their schools, indicating the readiness of the environment Schools, where education directors in the governorates have been granted the authority to address emergency health conditions to secure a safe healthy environment for students and administrative and educational frameworks.

The Minister of Education pointed out the importance of community participation and the role of media professionals in monitoring the reality of schools and activating initiatives, in addition to the role of parents in implementing the health protocol and educating students and educating them about the health guidelines that must be followed to address the Corona virus, indicating that the ministry is working to secure an electronic thermometer for each school.

Acting Director of the Education Program at the United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF" Charles Nabongo stressed the importance of standing with the Ministry of Education in launching the campaign to reach community awareness of the importance of returning to school and how to avoid the risks of the Corona virus, indicating that this year educators are facing a new challenge in Syria, which is the presence of the Coronavirus .

Nabongo pointed out that the health situation created a gap for students through educational losses, and we must all work to compensate for them for students, and we must work to meet their needs, create a safe environment for them, and make them aware by the school and parents and through advertising campaigns and the media.

In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Education at Damascus University, Dr. Zainab Zeyoud, drew attention to the importance of a rapid response in dealing with the educational reality in light of the spread of the Corona virus, noting the importance of education through the school.

The launch ceremony included communication through the distance learning platform and the virtual meetings of the Ministry of Education with the minister's assistants, directors of the central administration and directors of education in the governorates to view the final schools' preparations for the beginning of the school year, in addition to technical paragraphs for the Choir of the As-Suwayda Education Directorate and a popular dance session for the children of the School Theater Directorate.

The launch ceremony was attended by Director of Education in Damascus, Suleiman Al-Younis, and Director of Jawdat Al-Hashemi School, Haitham Ashkar.
