A fire broke out today in the woods of the village of Juwaibat in the countryside of Baniyas, where firefighting teams are working to extinguish it and deal with it with difficulty due to the nature of the area and its severe slope and the difficulty of fire trucks accessing it.
The alternate in the operations room of the Forestry Department of the Tartous Agriculture Directorate, Bassam Hassan, stated in a statement to SANA that the help and support had been requested from the fire brigades in the city of Banias, whose members deal with the fire with difficulty due to the severe decline, stressing that a way is being sought to enable the cars to reach the hotbeds. Hassan pointed out that other agricultural and forested areas witnessed several fires today, including the borders with the governorates of Homs and Hama, and the extinguishing of the Juwaikhat and Busra al-Jarrad fire took place, in addition to other fires in the Tartous governorate in the villages of Douga, Qarqafati, Deir al-Jarad and Qadmous.
On the other hand, the members of the fire brigade in Tartous today extinguished five fires that included the areas of Al Wasitat, Wadi Al-Shater, Beit Haji, Bisuram, and in the industrial zone of Tartous, all of which were grass and tree fires. They were dealt with and extinguished, and that the damage was limited to materials.
