Weilheim -

It sounded pretty rough what the defendant was doing in March and April of this year.

But behind the whole story was a sad marriage drama.

“It is a very heavy psychological burden on me,” said the woman at the Weilheim district court.

"I believe you that. But it does not help, you have committed these acts," said the presiding judge Karin Beuting about the explanations of the accused.

She told of the separation of her husband three years ago after more than 40 years of marriage.

"Imagine you have dinner together and then my husband gets dressed up and goes to his girlfriend," said the woman.

Since she and her husband and girlfriend still live in the same small town south of Weilheim, they would inevitably meet more often, and that would be unbearable, said the woman.

Wife threw eggs at windows and tried to hit her husband

The husband - the two are not yet divorced - had already enforced a violence protection order through the family court because his wife had repeatedly insulted him and his girlfriend.

However, the woman did not adhere to this.

In March and April she kept showing up at her husband's apartment, throwing eggs at the windows, cursing and insulting her friend, and once tried to hit and kick her husband.

The defendant did not seem to remember what had happened, but did not deny it either.

That explained her husband's testimony.

“In my wildest dreams I never thought that it would come to this one day.

I couldn't take it anymore, ”the retired police officer described his marriage.

After the children left the house, his wife started drinking.

"I found bottles hidden everywhere," he testified.

Therapy didn't help either.

"She is afraid of loss and wants to drink the fear away," he guessed.

Despite the ban on contact: the man had continued to meet with his wife

Both would not be able to let go yet, the defense attorney summed up the marriage drama.

Because despite the imposed ban on contact, the man had visited his wife, had breakfast with her, gave her money, you still share a car.

A mitigating circumstance for the defense attorney.

The judge sentenced the 62-year-old to a suspended sentence of four months.

“You absolutely have to let go.

You can only rely on yourself, ”Beuting said urgently when giving reasons for the judgment.

A testimony from the man's girlfriend saved Beuting the defendants, as the evidence was established for them.

She provided the woman with a probation officer for three years.

In addition, she ordered the continuation of outpatient therapy in a psychiatric clinic, which the woman had already started voluntarily.

In order to clarify the alcohol problem, the defendant has to prove six negative screenings.

And there is still a ban on contact with her husband's girlfriend.
