Kirchheim

- It is still unclear how much lower the income in the Kirchheim

household will be

due to the

Corona crisis

this year.

Despite a federal grant of 2.45 million euros as a “

Smart City

” and the compensation from a Corona special fund of 1 million euros,

chamberlain Christine Brunner-Ernst

expects

a clear minus.

That is why the

local council

decided on

a second savings package.

Travel allowance for community employees postponed

As early as July, the local council had tied down savings of 995,000 euros for this year, now followed by a second package worth 1.77 million euros.

These included larger projects such as the renovation of the forecourt of the Martin Luther primary school for 400,000 euros or the renovation of the sports field at the Silva primary school for 300,000 euros.

In addition to the postponed construction work, the travel allowance for community employees, which was decided in January and which should have been paid since June 1st, will also be postponed to the coming year.

Savings: 42,500 euros.

"Due to the personnel situation in the town hall, we would not have been able to do that for this year anyway," said Mayor Maximilian Böltl (CSU).

"As the discussions for the budget year 2021 will start shortly, we can resume projects and payments that have been postponed."

Here the community saves

Renovation of the forecourt of the Martin Luther Primary School (400,000 euros);

Renovation of the sports field at the Silva primary school (300,000 euros);

LED retrofitting of the floodlight system of the KSC (120,000 euros);

Construction of a warehouse (120,000 euros) and new office space at the building yard (150,000 euros);

Fire alarm system at the Kirchheim fire brigade (20,000 euros);

new stairwell windows at elementary and middle school (30,000 euros) or soundproofing (20,000 euros);

Fence (20,000 euros) and entrance area including toilet (40,000 euros) at the Bajuwarenhof;

new scoreboard at SVH (30,000 euros);

a garbage house at the Blauland kindergarten (20,000 euros);

Redesign of the playground on Reiherweg (30,000 euros).

He was proud to announce that Kirchheim was selected as one of 32 parishes in Germany as a “Smart City”.

The Federal Government supports municipalities in structuring digitalization strategically in terms of integrated sustainable urban development.

"We received the confirmation today and will receive 2.45 million euros for it," said Böltl.

Chamberlain Brunner-Ernst added that she was expecting a subsidy from the “Special Corona Fund” of 1 million euros.

This is "unfortunately" not higher, since the mean value from trade tax income from 2017 to 2019 is used as the basis.

Since 2017 in Kirchheim was “pretty bad”, the average value is 12.5 million euros with an estimate for this year of 15.5 million euros.

The compensation will be paid out in December.

Will the big end come next year?

Wolfgang Heinz-Fischer (VFW) expressly welcomed the savings: "We imagined it would be of this magnitude." Meanwhile, Michaela Harlander (SPD) would like to prevent the investment sum from becoming significantly higher due to the postponement of investments in renovations.

"In addition, the trade tax minus will be very moderate this year, the large sums will not come until next year," said Harlander and suggested: "I wouldn't postpone anything now, the money is there." For Böltl, meanwhile, it is clear that many investments will have to be called into question in 2021 as well.

“If we don't save now, we won't have the money in the coming year.” With a dissenting vote, the local council decided on the postponements.
