The Bundestag debated the admission of refugees on Friday.

The occasion was the destruction of the Greek refugee camp Moria by several large fires on Wednesday night.

This left more than 12,000 people homeless.

Horst Seehofer, Federal Minister of the Interior (CSU)

"The main task will lie with France and Germany. But I am grateful for any solidarity in Europe, even if it involves only a few refugees, and therefore it will probably be an order of magnitude for us - that depends on how many countries we have left win - between 100 and 150 young people. And we will relocate to Germany, we will do everything we can to ensure that this takes place in September. This is also a very concrete example of practiced charity. "

150 out of 12,000 - a far too small number in the opinion of aid organizations and politicians from the Greens, the SPD and the Left.

Dietmar Bartsch, chairman of the Die Linke parliamentary group

"For what feels like an eternity, municipalities, cities, and federal states have been calling on people to be welcomed and given security and dignity even the 150 that you want to include now, honestly, do not change anything at all. Your actions are not Christian, your actions are inhuman. "

The AFD, on the other hand, categorically refuses to bring refugees from Moria to Germany.

She spoke of "fire devils" among the migrants - although the cause of the fires is unclear.

Gottfried Curio, Member of the AFD

"You make yourself helpless in order to extort claims out of it. What an outrageous attitude of claims. Everything since September 2015."

A statement that met with fierce resistance in Parliament:

Ute Vogt, member of the SPD

"It's beyond my imagination how one can be so cold-hearted, mean and it really disgusts me personally how they talk about people and their suffering here."

The mayors of ten major German cities have also once again declared their willingness to accept refugees from the camp in a joint letter to the federal government.
