More and more traffic, often poor bus connections or even quality of life: The municipality of Oberding supports a mobility concept for the Isar region and Ampertal.

Oberding - The move to the rural regions of the districts of Erding and Freising is leading to more and more mobility problems.

Due to the lack of or poor connection to local public transport, there are hardly any alternatives to the car, which in turn results in increased traffic.

For this reason, and in order not to endanger the quality of life, the 17 municipalities of Integrated Rural Development (ILE) and the Leader Action Group (LAG) Middle Isar Region have come together to set up an integrated mobility concept.

The motto is to achieve improvements with inter-municipal networking.

It takes money to keep the project going.

The municipality of Oberding will contribute 3500 euros after a unanimous decision in the municipal council.

"I would support it," said Mayor Bernhard Mücke.

Participation is relatively cheap.

"If we were to do it ourselves, it would be many times more expensive." You have to act across districts.

A mobility manager should now be set up to take care of the implementation.

The position will be located neutrally, so the person is neither permanently resident in a municipality nor permanently in the district office.

The results of a basic analysis, which is based not only on suggestions from the population but also on existing reports, were presented at a future workshop in February 2019 in the Freising District Office.

Half a year later, a project team traveled through the Isar region and the Ampertal and held talks with all communities.

The result is a catalog of measures with nine key projects.

The final report is more than 100 pages.

Traffic calming in populated areas is one of those key projects.

The aim is to facilitate the arrangement of 30 km / h at city crossings.

In addition, public transport is to be supplemented by so-called on-demand traffic, car, ride and bike sharing.

The expansion of conventional public transport, on the other hand, no longer makes sense economically and in some cases also ecologically.

According to the report, there is also pressure to act when interlinking bus routes across the municipalities and districts.

In addition, express buses and the expansion of a regional, strategic everyday cycle path network are required.

The mobility manager should be the point of contact for municipalities and project sponsors.

He sets up a steering group with regular meetings, advises municipalities on the implementation of measures, looks for funding opportunities and networks municipalities with districts and partners such as the MVV.

Various communities from the Erding and Freising districts as well as the city of Freising belong to the LAG Mittlere Isarregion.

Berglern, Langenpreising and Oberding are actively involved from the Erding district.

Eitting is passive here.
